Jan Lenica, Jan Młodożeniec − Two Ways, Two Styles
Main Gallery, New Gallery 18.04 - 1.06.2003
The exhibition included 372 posters by both artists from the collection of the Poster Museum. The works of Jan Lenica covering the period between 1950 and 2000 characterised respective trends of his art by using a corresponding layout. Jan Młodożeniec`s posters produced between 1951 and 1999 have been divided into four groups depending on the compositions' main motifs, namely human figure, animal silhouette, plant motifs and others; a separate group has been devoted to typographic posters. One may, therefore, trace a plenitude of diverse stylistic depictions of the same motif. Exhibition Curators: Anna Zabrzeska-Pilipajć, Dorota Sobczyk
