Starowieyski's Absolute
A retrospective display of Franciszek Starowieyski posters staged on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Graphic Art and Poster Gallery in Warsaw.
1 December 2006 - 15 January 2007 Franciszek Starowieyski has worked with posters, drawings, easel and wall paintings, book graphic layouts, Baroque calligraphy and theatre and TV stage settings. He is one of the best known creators within the circle of "Polish" Poster Art"in Poland and throughout the world. The exhibition was his personal selection of around 200 posters from his earliest years, from the fiftioes up to the present day. The exhibition includes many of his sketches and drawings never exhibited before from which a visitor can trace how the concept of a poster and his form evolve.
