Polish Posters: The Collection
The Poster Museum in Wilanów is back! From Young Poland era posters to contemporary graphic design, the Polish poster collection comprises nearly 36,000 objects. For the first time in the history of the world’s first poster museum, these works will be presented as part of a permanent exhibition.
Due to the fragile nature of paper, the display will rotate every three months. However, the core narrative remains: a history of the social, cultural and political transformations that have left their mark on poster art.
The exhibition is divided into five chapters: The Young Poland movement, the artistic advertising of the interwar period, post-war propaganda, the artistic phenomenon of the Polish School of Posters, and modern graphic design
The museum is returning to the Warsaw cultural map after a multi-year hiatus following a thorough modernisation process. The new exhibition layout was designed by Syfon Studio.
The exhibition is accompanied by a richly illustrated publication prepared by Kuba Sowiński. It serves as a comprehensive guide to the Polish poster and the history of the Poster Museum in Wilanów.
The exhibition is accompanied by a catalogue available from the museum’s bookshop
